Lady Gaga at the Xcel Energy Center
Lady Gaga is coming back to the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota for another concert on Tuesday, May 20th at 7:30 PM. I so adore Lady Gaga and I cannot wait to see her perform live. What songs would you want to hear on stage? I'm excited to see Lady Gaga perform songs like "Just Dance", "Poker Face", "Alejandro", and "Born This Way". I'm too pumped to see her sing "Applause," that's my favorite song right now!

Summer of Come Back to the Band Tours
For all of you hipster, fun-lovin, pop-rock fans out there get ready for the summer of shows for you. This week No Doubt is performing at the Xcel to an absolutely pumped crowd... it has been far too long since this band has toured together. With No Doubt is also Paramore, a new alternative band that has a lot to offer and hopefully finds a friendly crowd here in the cities.
Then in a little bit more than a month Blink 182, one of the first pop-punk bands and arguably the most popular and successful is coming to St. Paul to play the Xcel Energy Center on August 18th at 6:30. Blink 182 has sold 20 million albums world-wide. However, in 2004 the band broke up to go after individual dreams. It has been just over 5 years since this high-energy fan centered band has toured together. However, the bassist Mark Hoppus was quoted as saying, "We are ready to get out on the road and play what we hope will be the most amazing tour of the season." Fans certainly hope so too. Playing with Blink 182 are Fall Out Boy and Panic at the Disco!
Tickets are still available for both of these concerts, buy now and don't miss the chance to be part of the pop-punk comeback!

R.E.M. Have Still Got It!
R.E.M played at the Xcel Energy Center last Thursday. I went to the show with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised by the performances that night. First of all, my Xcel Energy Center ticket for this show was amazing, Floor R row 9! Some people think that being off to the left or right no the main floor isn't a great seat, but I had a great view of the stage and the bands. Take a look at some of my pictures from this show, they're amazing!!!
Here is one of the opening bands, Modest Mouse:

And REM:

All in all REM played a really good set. REM played a lot of selections from their new album, as well as fan favorites like "Fall on Me" (my favorite one of the night) and they closed the show with "Man on the Moon."
As usual Michael Stipe's banter was politically charged inbetween almost every song. He praised Obama and declared that he would be voting for him this November.
To me though, Modest Mouse stole the show. They didn't play any of their 'hits' like "Float on" and "The Ocean Breathes Salty" they stuck to fans only favorites like "Satin in a Coffin" and "Bury Me With It"
Next time REM comes to town be sure to get your Xcel Energy Center tickets fast, because the show was only a half house concert making less tickets for such a fun show!

Bruce Springsteen at Xcel Energy Center
Bruce Springsteen will be back at the Xcel Energy Center for the sixth time on Sunday March 16th. If you are thinking "wasn’t Bruce Springsteen just here?" You are right. “The Boss” played to a sold out Xcel Energy Center on November 2nd, that’s less than 5 months ago. One of my friends is going to see Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, so I will have her write a blog entry next week about the show. Her Bruce Springsteen tickets are lower level reserved seats since the Xcel general admission floor will probably be a mess.
If you bought general admission tickets and you want to get into the front section of the floor, you need to be at Gate 1 at 2pm to get a wristband. You then need to be at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium at 5:15pm to line up for the lottery system. A select number of GA ticket holders will be selected to be in the front pit section. It will be an all day affair to get selected, but I am guessing the die hard Bruce Springsteen fans won’t mind.

Linkin Park = Huge concert
Perhaps one of the biggest rock bands of today will play Xcel Energy Center on February 13. You might have heard of them, a little band called Linkin Park. Hailing from Agoura Hills, California, Linkin Park’s first album Hybrid Theory was certified diamond by the RIAA. Linkin Park is selling more CDs than any other band right now, and they are credited right now by the record industry as a savior. Their “nu metal” rap-rock hybrid has softened to more straightforward rock with their 2007 Minutes to Midnight, but legendary producer Rick Rubin’s production has helped the band find a direction that can lead to their longevity. Linkin Park tickets are sure to be one hot ticket at the Xcel Energy Center. If you don’t get yours right away then get Linkin Park tickets at the Xcel Energy Center here.

Arena-rockers Matchbox Twenty will play the best arena: Xcel Energy Center
The Xcel Energy Center will soon host maturing mainstream rock band Matchbox Twenty. Matchbox Twenty have grown considerably since the release of their first album in 1996. While that album yielded five huge singles, their latest music is smart radio rock that hasn’t attracted a lot of attention but is still respectable. Lead singer Rob Thomas has even released an eponymous solo album that strayed some from Matchbox’s serious persona. The Xcel Energy Center will be a great venue for the band’s longtime fans to see them live. The Xcel should suit both the band’s rockers and ballads. Get Matchbox Twenty tickets for February 4, 2007.

What's up with Rascal Flatts Tickets?
The country music sensation Rascal Flatts visits the Xcel Energy Center tomorrow night and ticket prices are sky high! The rule of thumb is that tickets to country music shows don't fetch the same kind of dough as tickets to rock shows. However, there are always possible exceptions to this rule and Rascal Flatts Tickets at the Xcel Energy Center is definitely one of them.
When was the last country concert where it was impossible to buy a ticket in the first ten rows the night before the show? When was the last country show where "mediocre" lower level tickets were selling for over $200? When was the last country show where there wasn't one group of four tickets available in any location? If you answered Rascal Flatts at the Xcel Energy Center to the above three questions, you were correct. So, if you don't already have your Xcel Energy Center Tickets for Rascal Flatts, you just might be S.O.L!

Bruce Springsteen Nov. 2nd
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are coming to the Xcel Energy Center, Saint Paul on Friday November 2, 2007 07:30 PM. Springsteen will have an end stage set-up with a general admission floor. “The Boss” is well known for his marathon shows in which he and the E Street Band revolve amongst intense ballads, rousing anthems, and party rock and roll songs, with Springsteen telling long whimsical or deeply emotional stories in between.
Bruce Springsteen was just at the Xcel not too long ago when he featured songs from his Seeger Sessions album, influenced by the radical musical activism of Pete Seeger. The tour did great in Europe, but some US cities, particularly conservative cites, reported sparse attendance. Bruce Springsteen is hitting the road again to promote his newest album entitled Magic that is set to come out October 2nd. Bruce Springsteen has sold over 60 million albums in the U.S. alone and is sure to sell out the Xcel Energy Center so be sure to buy Bruce Springsteen tickets early.

Worthless Jackfest Tickets
The Jackfest concert at the Xcel Energy Center tonight was one of the most worthless concert tickets that I have ever seen at the Xcel Energy Center. Where did the promoter of this show get off charging close to $100/ticket for a bunch of 80's performers well past their primes? They obviously realized their mistake when they started selling the tickets for 1/2 price. When that didn't work, the Xcel Energy Center Box Office actually lowered prices to $10.41. What a joke! If they had simply started out charging around $50/ticket, they wouldn't have scared off the majority of people that were willing to buy tickets. I hope that the Xcel Energy Center learned their lesson and won't get greedy the next time that they schedule such a mediocre show.

Velvet Revolver and Alice in Chains
The schedule of mediocre shows at the Xcel Energy Center just got more mediocre with the addition of Alice in Chains and Velvet Revolver on August 29th. This show is similar to the Maroon 5 show in that Xcel Energy center is too big. What happened to he days when fringe bands played at small intimate venues? If you are interested in seeing this show, you can buy average lower level tickets for around $50/ticket directly from the Xcel Energy Center Box Office or excellent lower level seats on any number of online sites for $119/ticket. The floor is general admission which generally ads some demand for the best lower level seats.

Police Ticket Supply Tightens Up?
If you live in the Twin Cities, you couldn't help but catch one of the numerous TV stories or newspaper articles on how Xcel Energy Center Tickets for the Police were worthless. The media darlings at Ticket King were all over the news claiming that the prices were going to continue to drop as the Police Concert approached. They were dead wrong! My buddy went down to the "X" at concert time and couldn't find a ticket at any price. Apparently, the word got out that there was going to be an abundance of Police Tickets available the night of the show which totally increased the demand for the tickets. It sounds like a lot of people got left out on the corner of 7th. and Kellogg. I hope that they played Police music at the Eagle Street Grilles. I guess that this is just another example of the power of the media.
