NHL Draft

The Wild will be hosting the 2011 NHL draft at the Xcel Energy Center. The draft will take place on June 24th, and 25th.

“The Draft is a signature event, and, as our League gets younger and younger, it offers a preview of the NHL's future,” said Gary Bettman, NHL Commissioner. "The great fans in Minnesota will get a first-hand view of tomorrow's stars.”

The Wild sell out so many games and Minnesotans are so crazy about their Wild that it should sell out. The Wild have the 10th pick in the draft.

Top Wild Games of 2010-2011: November 17, Anaheim Ducks

Ducks-Wild fightOver the course of 82 games, there are many "big" games and "important" ones. On November 17, the Anaheim Ducks travel to the Xcel Energy Center for what can be called an old-fashioned "rivalry" game. Outside of the division with Vancouver, Colorado, and Calgary, the Anaheim Ducks are the Minnesota Wild's biggest rival. Twice have the Anaheim Ducks knocked out the Minnesota Wild in the playoffs, in 2002-2003 and 2006-2007. Furthermore, in 2006-2007 there was some cheap shots taken at Minnesota, with enforcer Brad May punching Kim Johnsson and knocking him out of the playoffs. The atmosphere is always intense and the Ducks have some notable players in Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, Bobby Ryan, and Teemu Selanne.
